Arrrr Greasy fatty gross food! But my options are limited here in ND. I knew this was probably not going to be a good spot for eating, why do I do this to myself!!

We brought our entire family here on a recent trip. The place was hopping. Despite a large number of people waiting, we only had to wait about 7 minutes before we were seated. As usual the free peanuts helped pass the time as we visited awaiting our orders. The server was very friendly and accommodating and refilled our beverages promptly. The steak was, as usual, very good. The children all enjoyed their burgers and sides, and we devoured the free buns. I've never been disappointed with Texas Roadhouse since my first visit to one in Virginia a few years ago. It's a happening, hopping place where the customers and the servers know how to have a good time.

Every time I go to Grand Forks and I want to eat a NY steak, the texas roadhouse is where I go to have a underfull time.

One thing I love about the U.S. is how unbelievably cheap food is and of course, the portions you get. We were wanting to have some steak upon our shopping trip south of the border. Well, we drive by this place and I was pretty sure it would serve up some steaks just by the name alone. The place was very busy Saturday at 6 pm but our wait wasn't too long. The staff were extremely well trained with their script to greet us and drop off a basket of their freshly baked bread which is apparently baked every 5 minutes. The bread was good though I didn't love the cinnamon butter that came with it. I opted for the Dallas Filet (8 ounce) for $20 and it came with two sides. I chose the loaded baked potato so that had butter, sour cream, chives and bacon (not low cal at all) and some steamed broccoli to counteract the loaded potato choice. Meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and wasn't too over seasoned. U.S. beef tastes different than Canadian beef due to the different feed (more corn used in the U.S) so that changes the taste of the meat. But it was still good because the meal I got would have cost me about $30-$38 in Canada. This place claims that all sides are made in house, if so the rice was terribly over seasoned cause it was nearly inedible. Love the complimentary peanuts they give you here so it's obviously not a good choice for anyone with peanut allergies as there's peanut shells everywhere in the restaurant. Service is extremely bubbly and a bit contrived but I am always in awe of how the fantastic service one gets in the U.S. in restaurants and retails stores compared to Canada. I know Canadians are friendly by nature but someone retail shop staff don't convey the same enthusiastic that I get when I am in the U.S. Also love that they do the loud over the top happy birthday songs to embarrass the birthday person. You can do that here as the place is very casual and the decor is very roadhouse like.

I like the bread. However, I don't know how many chef they have here. Sometime they got my steak prepared well as I requested, but I also got a steak that's not what I requested. They were either cooked too well or too rare, I remember I got a pork chop that has mostly pink when I cut the center. That made me sick, because that's not a steak. The good thing is the manager took it back and have that redone.

Boring but consistent. Come for the adjective adjective item. Stay for the adjective adjective item.

Standard chain steak place. Not bad, not great, but it works. One complaint.....we went to the bar while we waited for our table and each got a margarita because there was a big sign for "mugaritas $2.50" We were given our margaritas and were charged about $7 each. When we asked the bartender what gives...he said we didn't order the "mugarita" which comes in a mug instead of a margarita glass....seriously? There was like no alcohol in the margarita either. The waitress once we got sat was very friendly. Food came out quickly and she kept our drinks topped off. I got a caesar salad (lettuce was a little wilted) and the ribs and chicken dinner. I have to admit, I judged the book by its cover. The ribs looked horrible when she brought them out, they were gnarled and dry looking and I posted a picture of them on here. But OMG, I have to admit they were some of the better tasting ribs I've ever had at a chain restaurant. The chicken was just a small grilled chicken breast, nothing to write home about.

WOW, is all I can say, excellent food. Our apps were the blooming onion, fried pickles and what they call rattlesnake bites which were jalepino cheese balls, all were just delish. Entrées we got the sirloin and grilled shrimp, steaks and shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection Staff were super friendly and efficient. We are defiantly going back. Oh, yes, go hungry because they pile on the food along with never ending hot sweet buns with cinnamon butter and we must not forget the bulks of peanuts everywhere.

Can someone say yum!! This place is great! Despite being in college I still frequently get the chicken critters! They are great! While the wait can often be long, it's certainly understood why. Pro Tip: If everyone in your party is over 21, check the bar for a table around it. That will skip you past the wait. One of the managers, Kristen, is great! She was really kind and brought us out countless rolls. She even came back with a to-go box filled with rolls! I'm one happy customer!

Overall pretty good food, service and atmosphere. Had the BBQ Half Chicken plate with fries. The chicken was very moist and flavorful. The fries were very good as well and the rolls were to die for. My friend ordered the steak salad and was very happy with the quality and portion size. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked good, I'll be back!

A decent 8 oz sirloin steak at a grocer cost around 8 - 10 bucks. I get one at Texas Roadhouse for 12 bucks cooked to my liking and with all the sides. Then you get these special, delicious rolls with yummy butter. Come on how isn't this your favorite chain restaurant. I've been to plenty Texas Roadhouses and this one is right up there with all the rest. The staff is super friendly and nice. The bartenders are cool and take care of you. This drinks are good and they always have drink specials... Love it.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner with our two nieces. If you plan on going here for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night my piece of advice would be to do call ahead seating. It is not the same as a reservation but it does put you in a shorter line when you arrive - this was a lifesaver for us. Our server, Tony, was friendly and provided fast service. We order the onion blossom for an appetizer which was terrific. My youngest niece ordered a BBQ pork sandwich which she really liked. My husband, oldest niece and I ordered the filet medallions. I would describe them as "just ok". We had ordered them to be cooked medium and they were cooked at least medium well so they were a bit dried out. Overall we had a decent experience here and would consider returning again next time we visit Grand Forks. But if our steaks were overcooked a second time we would send them back.

Only reason I give it two stars is because my girlfriends steak was good. My prime rib that I paid $20 for tastes like hot dog. I kid you not, this was very disappointing and after the second or third bite it officially disgusted me. And I didn't realize how small 16 oz was but was not worth $20. Sirloin good and well seasoned, prime rib is dog food.

A great meal that I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. Very warm greeting and you are made to feel welcome right away. Overall very good service with an actual interest in how you are enjoying your meal I tried the 12oz prime rib, medium rare. Very tasty, cooked correctly and the baked sweet potato on the side was nicely done. The side salad was okay, nothing special but those evil little rolls with the flavored butter have to be treated with caution. They just go down so smoothly! So a very good meal with excellent prime rib that I would strongly recommend.

Great meal. Very busy tonight, but things moved fast. Had the New York strip, it was prepared just the way I like it. Salad was fresh and tasty. Waitress was prompt and attentive. Overall a good experience.

First night in the frozen tundra. The place was 5 min from our hotel, good NY steak, topped with mushrooms. Nice side dishes and a good onion blossom. fine selection of beers, well one in that area. There were about 10 of us that night and the folks did a nice job getting the meals out 0on time. This place is well worth the visit. Good food, nice TV's, a good time.

The food here is always great! The staff here is always great! It gets really packed on the weekends and it takes forever to get a table which is not so great. Bottom line, the food is amazing but not worth the wait during peak hours.

We were in Grand Forks dropping our son off at college and went here for supper. We had been to a TR before and thought it okay so decided to eat here. Can now say I will not ever bother with a Texas Roadhouse again. The wait was long, both to get seated and to get our food. I can understand that part, as it was very busy with welcome weekend at the school. But the menu is really rather option-less and boring. My son liked his ribs but I've gotten better potato skins out of the frozen food section at Target. My husband said his steak was ok - which is good considering he ordered a pork chop! The worst part was that a hostess came by our table at LEAST a dozen times, looking over our shoulders, counting glasses, etc. We saw her in a frenzy all over the place, constantly checking tables. It got to the point that we asked our server what was up. He said they are busy so she wanted to make sure there weren't empty glasses and such that could be washed so they didn't run out. Okaaaay..... I guess that makes some sense, but it made us feel like we should hurry up and get out of there. Seriously. It bordered on creepy. Skip it. Find somewhere better to eat than Texas Roadhouse.

Their New York strip steak was one of the better ones I've had. I didn't like their ribeye steak, but I ordered the 10 oz ribeye and being such a small steak meant they had to cut it too thin to be very good (thin steaks will usually end up dry and overcooked, even if ordered medium rare). I have a feeling that their specialty, the bone-in ribeye is much better. The 10 oz New York strip is thick enough though because it's shaped differently. I haven't tried the Dallas Filet (tenderloin). The Prime rib was very good and tender... but not great. Their steaks are hand cut, as they should be (ordering pre-cut steaks isn't very economical). I haven't tried their ribs. The best part about this place is that you can get a good steak cooked and served to you for about the same price you'd buy it for raw at the local meat market (meat in Grand Forks is so darned expensive!). They do get packed full of people, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, so it helps to call ahead of time and reserve yourself a seat in advance. If you don't, you may be waiting for over an hour. I like this place a lot better than Grizzly's or Timberlodge. However, I would put places like Doolittles (found in Fargo) or Axel's Bonfire (several locations around Minneapolis) a step ahead because of the wood fired grills they use. Nonetheless, for a nice dinner I can't think of a restaurant in Grand Forks that is substantially better- especially if considering the value.

Chili was good for a chain. Skip the bread if you are watching calories-they suck you in with the goodness. Service at the bar was attentive and top notch. two buckets one with peanuts and one for the shells (not on floor) - a first I have seen at Texas Roadhouse.

I've been to multiple locations and to this one MANY times since my move to Grand Forks because it reminds me of home ... just like my experiences at other TR locations, they are always good.

I'll admit, this was the worst Texas Roadhouse I have been to. The steak was dry and overcooked, the fries tasted like they were freezer burnt and the waitress was pushing to get me out the door to seat another group. I came alone and was seated instantly, but that was the only good thing about this busy place. Grrrrr

Service was great but my steak was overcooked and tasted a little old. I expect a little better quality from this chain. My daughter got the sirloin and I got the ribeye. Her steak tasted better but lacked seasoning. You shouldn't have to need steak sauce to eat your steak but definitely needed it tonight.

The service was very good, as was the food. The price was also quite reasonable for the quality and quanity of food.

Texas Roadhouse is good in moderation. If you go twice a week for year.=Anything you order there, it taste the same. The chicken taste like the steak, the steak taste like the chicken. The salad taste like steak, and mashed potatoes taste like the free butter bread they give you. I think the they use the same seasoning for everything.
